Puppies at the Unfinished Obelisk

Before walking up through the quarry to see the unfinished Obelisk someone in our group discovered these little puppies and their mom hiding in the trees. I'm sure they were seeking some cool shade.

One of the caretakers at the quarry was trying to give the puppies water, he was afraid that they would die as they weren't getting enough fluid. He put some water in an old plastic bag with a hole in the end and tried to get them to drink, but it didn't look as if they were getting much. Some in our group tried to get the puppies to lick water from their fingers. That, too, didn't look as if it was very successful. They were very sweet puppies and I hope they made it.
