Signs and Shops along the road in Cairo

I snapped signs and shops as we drove to the restaurant and then from the restaurant back to our hotel, Le Meridian.

Everything is so sunny, colorful and decorative it just makes you happy to look at it.

I love the graceful curves of Arabic penmanship...

After the camel ride and before lunch we stopped at the jewelry store and the papyrus store. In the papyrus store we saw a demonstration of how it is made...pretty cool stuff, strong and pretty! I forgot to take pictures there, but thought of it now because I bought papyrus for Hans and Samantha with their names in Arabic. The women in the store were so nice, it was a pleasure to look at all the wonderful images on the papyrus, hear the stories associated with the images and the woman who did the calligraphy did beautiful work.
